I've been doing a bit of photography for various Syncopation related things and I was super excited when Amanda asked to take photos at the grand opening of the Syncopation Foundation's newest venue, Suzie Q's! Dance photography is still very new to me, but I've been having a lot of fun getting creative and capturing those magical moments on the dance floor. I've also gotten tons of positive feedback from friends and fellow dancers which is definitely encouraging!
The grand opening was wonderful! It was a night filled with lots of DJ'd music from Chelsea, Claire, and Elaine, jams of all types and sizes, so much dancing, and even a second line near the end. The whole time there was this wonderful, happy energy that just kept getting better and better as the night went on. After the dance a huge group of us went to North Star Diner where we ate and hung out till way past midnight. Fun times.
